About Us
What Is the Million Minds Initiative?
The Million Minds Initiative is a global mental health effort led by the Global Mental Health Task Force (GMHT), in collaboration with Clinicom and the American Psychiatric Association.
Our goal: assess one million individuals and help them receive the care they need.
This $15M initiative bridges clinical excellence, scalable technology, and community-driven action to address the world’s most urgent mental health needs.
Why It Matters
- Mental health affects every aspect of our lives, yet 2/3 of our fellow humans still lack access to proper care
- 1 in 4 people globally will experience mental health issues
- Over 70% of those affected receive no treatment, especially in low- and middle-income regions
- Early diagnosis reduces suffering, improves care, and saves lives
Our Mission & Goals
The Million Minds initiative is the world’s largest effort to tackle the global mental health crisis head-on by focusing on early detection, accurate diagnosis, and timely support—especially for those in underserved communities.
When so many are suffering, It is our collective duty to help give a voice to the voiceless.
Key Components of the Initiative
- Each individual gets assessed for 80+ mental health conditions and social determinants of health.
- Using Clinicom’s adaptive assessment technology to reach remote and high-need areas.
- Allowing individuals to take the Clinicom assessment directly on their smartphone, anytime and anywhere.
- Focusing on populations most affected by gaps in mental health access: women, children, veterans, and communities facing poverty, trauma, or displacement

- Reveal population-level mental health trends that can inform better public health strategies.
- Support more accurate, culturally sensitive diagnoses.
- Guide funding and policy decisions that prioritize mental health access.
